Royal Theatre Makeover

Royal Theatre Celebrates 100 Years

Kristy Palmer of Homefront Ideas is proud to see her design ideas and work come to life as the Royal Theatre undergoes a makeover in stages (no pun intended) taking on a sparkling fresh look.

The washrooms on the lower level were going through finishing touches just hours before the curtain rose for the Opening Night of STOMP

Look for more changes in the coming months as the carpeting is chosen and installed.

If you have a commercial property in need of a fresh new look or a creating a new space, Homefront Ideas has the expertise to bring it to fruition.

It's Show Time

The Show's over, but...

if you missed getting out to Homefront Ideas for the Studio Tour on October 21st and 22nd, we've got a couple of pics for you, so you don't miss out completely!

Starting with set up (above) , Craig Benson bringing in his huge pieces to the store, his Salmon Stone from the Sidney Fine Art Show and the bronze Westcoast bowl weighing in a 165 lbs!
Craig won the People's Choice Award for his Salmon Stone carving.
Jonathan Gleed poses with Pauline Olesen and her fused glass work on show day.  Jonathan painted both days outside in front of the store as you can see by his painting pants!

Craig in the background, Salmon Stone in the foreground and as you can see, we had fused glass, carvings and paintings throughout the design store.
Jonathan Gleed had his ladder handy for placing his beautiful canvases throughout our high vertical wall areas.  We'll have a large number of Jonathan's paintings on exhibition and for sale for the next month, so drop in an see.  He's brought us a wonderful collection of both large and smaller canvases.

We're hoping the one he worked on will come back for everyone to see in it's finished state.

Hope you enjoyed the pictures, sign up for our blog to keep up to date with what's happening at Homefront Ideas and The Finished Room, or subscribe to our newsletter from our website www.homefrontideas.com

Studio Tour comes to Homefront & The Finished Room

New location - #5, 2353 Bevan Ave., Sidney, BC
 Saanich Peninsula Studio Tour
Sat. & Sun. October 20-21
11 am to 4 pm both days

Homefront Ideas & The Finished Room are pleased to be providing a venue for 3 artists on the Saanich Peninsula Studio Tour this coming weekend, October 20th & 21st.  We will be open 11 to 4 pm both days for the tour featuring our 3 artists.  If you've already picked up a map, we are Studio #6 on the tour.

The showroom will be filled with canvas, glass & stone from our featured artists Jonathan Gleed, Craig Benson & Pauline Olesen.

Craig Benson is a Master Artist in the Sidney Fine Art Show and you may have seen his latest piece at the show.  Craig works in wood, stone and has been producing limited edition bronzes of his work as well.  He focuses on marine life as his subject matter and is known for his attention to detail, bringing movement to the animals and fish.

Jonathan Gleed's paintings will fill the showroom walls!  Our wall space is a bit limited at the new location, but Jonathan is up to the challenge and will be bringing all manner, subject and size of his paintings for the tour.  This will be his first time on the tour and we look forward to seeing our walls filled with beautiful paintings.

Pauline Olesen is a fused glass artist and you'll have seen her work in Homefront Ideas over the years.  Homefront was one of the first galleries to show her work.  She'll be bringing new pieces for the tour and jewelry which we aren't able to carry year round in the showroom.  Look for lighting, sculpture and humpback whales she tells us!

We look forward to the weekend and hope to see you out.  Sharon Turnbull of The Finished Room will be with the artists on Saturday and Kristy Palmer of Homefront Ideas on Sunday.

There is parking in front of the store and our main floor is wheelchair accessible.  The Studio Tour flags will be flying!

Lady Catherine- Brentwood Bay, BC

If you've been following the progress of the new Lady Catherine residential/commercial venture we've been working on in Brentwood Bay these newest photos are going to make you want to move in!

This is a kitchen that makes you want to cook-a kitchen to inspire the gourmet that hides within.

The photos were taken late in the day, but still you get a wonderful feel for the light from the windows in the kitchen, the gleam of the granite countertops.  The lighting gives a country, yet arts & crafts ambiance, combining elegance and old world charm.

The separate tub and glassed-in shower are streamlined and spacious, with Toto fixtures.

All that's missing are some fluffy white towels and robes to make you feel you've escaped to the spa.
And this could be your home...
Top it all off with this gorgeous expansive view, spectacular sunsets and carefree condo living.  A very nice life awaits at The Lady Catherine in Brentwood Bay, BC.  Feel free to contact designer Kristy Palmer for a referral on making it yours, or designing something wonderful for your existing home.
